Greetings from ENGINEERING STAFF COLLEGE OF INDIA!!!!!
Technology is indubitably the niftiest factor of change in the modern world. Although never without risk, technological breakthroughs promise solutions to the most pressing global challenges of our time. From zero-emission cars fuelled by hydrogen to computer chips modelled on the human brain, inventions offer a vivid glimpse of the power of innovation to improve lives, transform industries, develop nations and safeguard our planet.
The technological evolution was so agile that it seems like yesterday when we used to struggle very hard to make a trunk call to far off distances, now it’s just a click of a button. Everything seemed difficult and sometimes impossible. But with the technological advancements in the 20th and 21st centuries man became more technologically advanced & powerful.
In the field of prototyping and manufacturing, world has seen myriads of scientific & technological advancements which made things easier and simpler every time. With the advent of additive manufacturing which is widely known as 3D printing, conceiving of new concepts has become easier. This technology will change the way things are being manufactured. In a way this technological advancement will revolutionize manufacturing.
Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) has been at the forefront in promoting and bringing the knowledge of latest & emerging technologies to the academicians, professionals by conducting Continuing Professional Development Programs & Specific Training Programs.
With the objective of spreading the technology among the enthusiasts, scholars and professionals a Technology Demonstration Centre, Design & Prototyping Centre has been established on 09 April 2015, under the research wing of ESCI. The Centre functions as a facilitator, Co-ordinator and Collaborator to create a platform where students, academicians, scholars, scientists, professionals, industry and OEM’s can interact and help each other on technical know-how, develop new technologies and most importantly transfer the technology to the society.
DIGITECHMAN 2017 is one such platform where people across board, from Defence services, DRDO Labs, Public Sector Unit’s, Private Companies, Corporates, OEM’s, Start Up’s, Aspiring Entrepreneurs, Retired & Serving experts from all core engineering disciplines, Medicos, Academicians, Scholars, Students and all those fervent technologists can come together, deliberate and exchange knowledge. The idea is also to form clusters to address the issues at large the society is struggling with which will be deliberated during the conference. This event in a way create an opportunity for all of us to work towards fulfilling the dream of Late Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam - Vision 2020 & make GoI’s dream of Make in India, Digital India, Start-up India and Stand up India a reality.
This is a pioneering step in creating such an institutional cluster which will not only educate & train technologists but also create an arena which will serve the purpose of leading Centre of Excellence for all emerging technologies and also provide services to Academic institutions, Research Labs & Industry. I wish that every one of you takes part in such a revolutionary movement and becomes a part of the success that is to be scripted during the event, contributing to the progress of our great nation, India.
